Kolkata: Heavy rains are expected over the next 3 days over a wide area of North Bengal including Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. The regional headquarters of the Meteorological Department at Alipur has given information about this on Saturday morning. It has been said that there is a possibility of continuous rains in Bengal due to the low pressure on the sea level. Five areas of North Bengal, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, Siliguri, Cooch Behar and Darjeeling will receive heavy rains over a wide area. Apart from this, heavy rains are expected in the capital Kolkata as well as Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura etc. districts. It has been told that along with rain, there is a possibility of falling lightning. That is why people have been advised not to leave the house without reason. In a statement issued by the department, it has been said that due to monsoon, low pressure has been created at the sea level, due to which there may be continuous rains. Even on Saturday, the capital Kolkata will be cloudy all day and rain will start from the night. The minimum temperature in the capital Kolkata will be between 26 to 27 degree Celsius while the maximum temperature will be between 29 to 31 degree Celsius.
