California: US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has once again targeted China. He said on Thursday that it is a time for liberation from the tyranny and tyranny of China and we should strive for a ‘China-free’ world.
The US Secretary of State said, “China is maintaining its expansionary policy and is holding the freedom of others hostage. If the world does not change Communist China, then Communist China will change us’. Speaking at the California-based Richard Nixon Presidential Library, Pompeo further said that Beijing has only taken advantage of US and Western generosity, but will no longer do so. Let me tell you that this library is named after former US President Richard Nixon, who started American diplomatic relations with China almost 50 years ago.
Mike Pompeo also attacked the policies of former US governments regarding China. He said China has broken international commitments to curb Hong Kong’s autonomy, South China Sea and state-backed intellectual property threats. We cannot come back to the same situation (old policies) simply because they are comfortable or convenient for China.
Referring to the Chinese Communist Party, the Foreign Minister said, ‘We can no longer ignore fundamental political and ideological differences between our countries, just as the CCP has never ignored them’. Pompeo said Washington ordered China to close its consulate in Houston, Texas, because it had become a base for illegally obtaining trade secrets and espionage of American companies.
He said, ‘We have decided to close the Houston Consulate in China this week, as it became a base to steal espionage and intellectual property. China stole our intellectual property and trade secret due to which millions of American citizens lost their jobs.
